Queenstown is full of so many different bars and restaurants, it can be difficult to pick out the best spots. Don’t worry though – we’ve put our heads together and come up with a list of our favourite local spots for a celebratory drink before or after the big day!
Eichardt’s Bar – It’s hard to miss this iconic spot when strolling around Queenstown. With a rich history since its opening in 1867, this is a beautiful, cosy spot to enjoy a drink or two.
Sundeck – With one of the best views in the area, this rooftop bar’s name speaks for itself! Enjoy a cocktail by the fire pit and watch the sky change colour as the sun goes down.
The Bunker – Tucked away down a back alley in central Queenstown, you’ll find this hidden gem. Enjoy one of their famous espresso martinis, or stay for a delicious dinner. Either way, you’ll be happy you stopped by!
Reds Bar – Located in the Rydges Hotel just outside town centre is this incredibly scenic spot. Soak in the spectacular views of the Remarkables and Lake Wakatipu while sipping on one of the bar’s customised cocktails. If you’re looking for a feed, hop on over to the Bazaar Restaurant next door for one of the best buffet experiences in town.
Blue Door – A true, local hidden gem, Blue Door is a must-visit if you’re out and about in Arrowtown. With a cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and often live music, it’s the kind of place that is hard to leave!
Jack’s Point Clubhouse – If a quiet, out-of-town experience is more what you’re after, this is the place to be. About a 20-minute drive from central Queenstown is Jack’s Point, a stunning township with one of the best golf courses and clubhouses in the country. Sip on a glass of wine while lounging outside with the Remarkable mountains as your backdrop.
Pinot Pit by Wakatipu Grill – Another tranquil spot is Pinot Pit based at The Hilton Queenstown. Sip a cocktail by the cosy fire and watch the world go by.
Little Blackwood – Set in town centre right alongside Lake Wakatipu, this popular bar offers delicious cocktails, yummy food and beautiful views. Enjoy the endless views outside or head inside for some live music.
